Pay & conditions: How do I find out what leave I can take?

  • Full-time employees are entitled to at least four weeks of paid annual leave and 10 days of paid personal leave each year.
  • Part-time employees are entitled to the same leave entitlements on a pro-rata (proportionate) basis. An example is provided in 'Part-time workers’ in this toolkit.
  • Casual workers are not entitled to paid annual or personal/carer’s leave. Instead, they get paid an extra amount (a loading) in each pay.
  • Shift workers are entitled to an additional paid week of annual leave.
