Pay & conditions:How do I find out about my pay and conditions?
Your minimum pay and conditions will be described in the award that applies to the job or industry you work in, or in your employer’s enterprise agreement.
Your verbal or written contract of employment may provide better pay and conditions than these minimum standards.
Your employer should tell you which award or enterprise agreement describes your pay and other working conditions.
If you work in the national system, your employer must also give you a copy of the Fair Work Information Statement when you start work. This contains information on your rights in the workplace and where to find your minimum pay and conditions.
Your pay and conditions must meet the minimum set out in the relevant award for your industry and the National Employment Standards. Some awards may have junior pay rates for employees aged under 21.
What you can do
Ask your employer where to find your pay and conditions.
Ask your employer whether a modern award or enterprise agreement applies to you, and if you have an employment contract providing for higher pay and conditions. If you are unable to get an answer, contact the Fair Work Infoline on 13 13 94 or chat online with a Live help adviser for this information.
